Jaipur - The Pink City

Jaipur, India’s first planned city designed by Vidyadhar Bhattacharya, is renowned worldwide for its colored gems. This vibrant modern metropolis holds the distinction of being one of three corners in the golden triangle which includes Delhi, Agra, and itself. With a captivating mix of ancient history and metropolitan advantages, it attracts visitors from all over the world.

In 1876, Maharaja Ram Singh of Jaipur welcomed the Prince of Wales to India with a unique gesture – painting the entire city pink! This vibrant hue has become an iconic symbol of hospitality and creates a breathtaking spectacle against the backdrop of Nahargarh, Jaigarh, and Garh Ganesh Temple. Whether you’re visiting or just passing through, make sure to take in the majestic beauty that is Pink City: Jaipur.

Founded in 1727 by Raja Jai Singh II of Amber, Jaipur was established as a new capital due to the increasing population and water scarcity. Notable architect Vidyadhar Bhattacharya used the ancient principles of Vastu Shastra to construct this beautiful city.

AMBER PALACE

It was once the bastion of the Kachwahas of Amber until they moved their capital to what is today known as Jaipur. The palace in these craggy hills displays a stunning blend of Hindu and Mughal styles, making it an exquisite sight to behold. In 1592, Raja Man Singh I initiated the construction of a strong and secure palace to protect against enemies. Mirja Raja Jai Singh was responsible for completing the structure by an unknown date. The exterior is imposing while the interior is invitingly warm – it’s quite unexpected! The Amber Palace is a breathtaking sight to behold, made entirely of red sandstone and white marble with intricate carvings, precious stones, and mirrors. Situated on the shores of Maota Lake, it has been captivating visitors for nearly seven centuries with its legendary past. Originally won from the Meena tribes by Rajputs, this small structure was later transformed into an impressive palace that stands today as a symbol of grandeur.
